IVF Success Stories

Going through fertility treatment can be emotionally draining, and IVF success can sometimes feel just beyond your grasp.

Many of our patients have experienced anxieties, challenges, and setbacks on their journey to achieving a successful pregnancy and a healthy baby.

Here we’ve pulled together some of our patients’ experiences to celebrate their IVF success stories.

In this article:

IVF Success: Melanie and Gary

Like many couples, Melanie and Gary’s journey began with NHS IVF. However, their treatment was unsuccessful, and the couple found themselves at a crossroads and had to decide whether they wanted to continue with IVF or try other options.

One of their biggest challenges was trying to figure out how they could continue to save money for more cycles of IVF if treatment was unsuccessful. Eventually, Melanie and Gary stumbled across and enrolled on Access Fertility’s IVF Refund Programme. They found that having the assurance of up to a 100% refund if they didn’t have a baby, allowed them to focus more on the IVF process itself.

To their delight, the couple fell pregnant and welcomed, Toby and Oliver, into the world. When we caught up with Melanie and Gary, sometime after the birth of their twins, they said: “We’d 100% recommend Access Fertility to anyone who doesn’t have the funding for treatment. Their programmes are straightforward and really do help to take away the stress around finances.”

IVF Success: Esther and Jonny

Esther and Jonny started trying to conceive later in life and found that their age made them ineligible for IVF on the NHS. Looking for other options, the couple chose to pursue treatment at Manchester Fertility, where they learnt about Access Fertility’s programmes.

They said: “The Multi-Cycle Programme was the most cost-effective way for us to do what we wanted to do. Access Fertility was professional, worked well with the IVF clinics, and gave us confidence straight away that there was a plan in place.”

At the age of 42, Esther became pregnant on her second cycle of IVF, but complications lay ahead. She fell extremely ill with sepsis, and tragically, the couple lost their baby. More than a year later, with one of their final embryos, the couple again fell pregnant. Despite a difficult journey, Esther and Jonny welcomed the arrival of their daughter, Phoenix, who now joins them on their travel adventures.

IVF Success: Gemma and David

After five years of trying for a baby, and a series of fertility tests, Gemma and David were advised to explore IVF. Unfortunately, the couple discovered they were not eligible for NHS-funded IVF due to David having a child from a previous relationship.

The couple found out about Access Fertility through Gemma’s sister and decided to enrol on one of our programmes. They both felt that having the opportunity for more than one cycle of treatment would allow them to be more relaxed throughout treatment and give them the chance of success.

Following the birth of their daughter, Francesca, Gemma, and David said: “We found Access Fertility to be so straightforward, everyone we spoke to was happy to answer our questions. Going the Access Fertility route eliminated some of the stress, knowing that you’re going to have three potential attempts takes the pressure off.”
