Do I need to be registered with London Women’s Clinic (LWC) to start the application process?
Yes, patients need to have had their initial consultation and been given a treatment plan in order to apply.
Will this be available at all LWC clinics?
This will be available at all of the LWC clinics apart from LWC Darlington.
Will I need to complete fertility tests?
Yes, patients will need to complete a fertility MOT including a pelvic ultrasound scan, AMH test, and fertility consultation. These assessments will provide a greater understanding of your current ovarian reserve and fertility status. This will not be covered by the Access Fertility finance option.
Is there an age cut off to access the programme?
Patients 39 and under will be able to apply, subject to eligibility criteria.
What are the eligibility criteria?
This programme will be subject to a medical review. Patients would need to be age 39 and under and have an AMH of 12 pmol/L or above to apply for this programme. Our medical team will also review the medical notes provided by the clinic including AFC, recommended protocol and dosage, and physical data such as BMI.
Is there a BMI requirement?
There is no set BMI requirement, but BMI will be taken into account as part of the medical review alongside other factors.
Why is the maximum age of the Egg Freezing 100% Refund programme 39 and under?
The reason behind the age limit is to ensure that patients have the best chance of a positive outcome and a good number of eggs are retrieved. We do also have another programme which may be suitable for you if you’re over 39, which you can see here.
Will the programme include the initial consultation?
No, this is not covered by our programmes as standard and would need to be paid separately to your clinic.
How many cycles will the programme include?
The Egg Freezing 100% Refund Programme will offer up to 4 egg freezing cycles.
Will this include egg thaw, fertilisation and embryo transfer?
No, this will only include egg freezing.
Will the programme cover medication?
TBC Please note that any additional medication not covered by the programme would need to be paid separately to your clinic.
How long will the egg freezing be covered? Do I need to use my eggs within a certain timeframe?
The programme will cover up to 4 egg freezing cycles and the initial 12 month storage fee for the frozen eggs. Cover for the first year of storage starts from the date of the first egg collection. For example, if your first egg collection was on 01/11/24, the storage fee is covered until 01/11/25, regardless of any further egg collections.
Is there a set time period within which I need to have the 4 egg collection cycles?
Yes, all cycles need to be completed within 12 months of the initial enrolment date.
How long can my eggs be frozen for?
HFEA regulations state that eggs can be frozen for up to 55 years in the UK.
What happens if no eggs are collected? Will the cycle be lost?
If, unfortunately, no eggs are collected, this will still count as a complete cycle, and you would move on to your next egg freezing cycle when you are ready to do so.
Do I need to complete all 4 egg freezing cycles before I can transfer any resulting embryos?
You can thaw and fertilise the eggs but please bear in mind you would need to complete all cycles before you can proceed with any embryo transfers. Any costs associated with egg thaw, fertilisation and embryo transfers will not be covered by the programme and will need to be paid directly to LWC.
What happens if my cycle is cancelled? (before egg collection)
All cancelled cycle fees will need to be paid to LWC. Patients will then be able to repeat their cycle when they are ready to do so.
Am I obligated to complete all 4 cycles if I no longer want to do so? Will I get any refund?
We understand your circumstances may change over time. Patients can withdraw from the programme at any time if for any reason they did not want to continue with egg freezing treatment. In this case, our finance team will need to calculate your withdrawal amount based on the amount of treatment reported by your clinic. Refunds will take 30 days to be processed as standard from the time you signed the withdrawal form.
Do I need to register my partner as part of the programme?
No, only if you want to or if your partner is paying some/all of the programme fee.
Can I arrange to have another IVF cycle or other fertility treatment alongside the Egg Freezing Programme if I pay for this myself?
No, this will be classed as unauthorised treatment and is not compatible with our programmes. You would need to complete your Egg Freezing 100% Refund Programme before you can proceed with any other fertility treatment. Alternatively, you can withdraw from your programme and may be entitled to a partial refund depending on how many cycles you may have had at the time of withdrawal.
Is there any reason Access Fertility may remove me from the programme?
TBC
What is the Access Fertility finance option?
Patients can apply for our Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) option up to cover the costed treatment plan/egg freezing cycle up to a maximum of £12,000 per year once you have signed your consent form.
What can the BNPL loan be used for?
The loan can only be used to cover the cost of the Egg Freezing 100% Refund Programme.
What is the refund offered?
We will refund 100% of your programme fee if fewer than 20 frozen or mature eggs are collected after a maximum of 4 egg collection cycles.
Can I apply for a partial amount?
Yes, patients can apply for a loan up to the maximum amount of the programme fee. If you wish to take a lower amount, you will need to pay the remaining balance to Access Fertility before starting treatment.
How long does the BNPL application take?
Patients should allow up to two weeks for the application to ensure they have enough time for the loan to be approved before they start treatment.
When do I need to have the loan in place?
The loan needs to be in place and funds cleared before you start your egg freezing cycle.
Can my partner apply for BNPL?
Yes, your partner will be able to submit the BNPL application.
Can I use another Access Fertility programme and/or have a single egg freezing cycle funded through BNPL alongside the Egg Freezing 100% Refund Programme?
No, these are fully separate so this will not be possible. If you would like to apply for one of our own other programmes you would need to withdraw from your Egg Freezing 100% Refund Programme and start a new application.
How do I make payment for any partial remaining programme fee amount if I qualify for a partial loan amount?
The remaining balance would need to be paid via our online payment portal via bank transfer before starting treatment with your clinic.
