How much does treatment cost at a Manchester IVF clinic?

There’s a lot to consider when you’re planning for fertility treatment, especially financially, and looking to start at a Manchester IVF clinic is no different.

Here we look at how patients in the city can access IVF, and how much they might pay for treatment.

Accessing Manchester IVF treatment

Patients can access NHS-funded IVF in Manchester, if they’re eligible. Earlier this year, NHS Greater Manchester introduced a standardised number of NHS-funded IVF cycles offered across all of the region’s ten boroughs. Previously three cycles were available to women in Tameside, and two cycles in Salford, Wigan and Stockport. Now, eligible patients aged 39 and under referred to an IVF clinic after April 1 2026 will be offered:

  • One full cycle of IVF
  • A second cycle, only if the first is cancelled or abandoned

Across the region, around 1 in 12 cases don’t progress to embryo transfer, which is why there’s an option for a second cycle if the first is not completed. NHS Greater Manchester moved to a single policy to remove the variations of cycles being offered to patients depending on where they lived. The change brings Greater Manchester broadly in line with most areas across England.

If you don’t meet the criteria for NHS IVF, your other option is to pay for private treatment.

How much does Manchester IVF treatment cost?

The average cost of IVF treatment in Manchester is around £4,787 per cycle, excluding additional expenses such as consultation fees, medication, blood tests, pelvic scans, semen testing, add-ons, frozen embryo transfers etc.

IVF medication can cost between £1,000-£2,500 but this varies from patient-to-patient depending on hormone levels, ovarian reserve, and medical history.

How Access Fertility can help you pay for IVF treatment

Our 0% interest IVF financing option means you can spread the cost of treatment over 12 months.

Patients can borrow up to £12,000 to pay for any Access Fertility Programme. You don’t have to apply for the full £12,000, if you have part of the overall cost yourself already, you can use our IVF financing to top up your own funds. For example, if your programme costs £12,000, and you have £9,000, you can just apply for a loan of £3000.

As the loan is to be used for the payment of all or part of your Access Fertility programme, the approved amount will be used to reduce / pay off your programme fee.

Who can use Access Fertility IVF programmes?

Our Unlimited Programme is available to patients under 38.
Our Refund Programme is available to patients under 40.
Our Multi-Cycle Programme is available to patients under 45.
Our Donor Egg Refund Programme is available to patients 49 and under depending on your clinic.

Where will my IVF treatment take place?

Treatment will take place at your chosen clinic. You will need to contact one of our partner clinics to attend an initial consultation and have your investigatory tests. Once these are complete, and the results are available, we will be able to begin your application and treatment will take place at your selected clinic.
