Find out how much treatment will cost
The cost of IVF varies from clinic to clinic but the average price of one cycle of treatment is around £5000. This doesn’t include the cost of medication, embryo freezing, or other add-ons such as PGS or blastocyst transfer.
At this stage, it’s important to remember that your needs are unique, so the cost of your treatment may differ from other patients. If you’re unsure if you need certain add-ons, speak to your doctor or a fertility specialist first.
Review your finances
Look at your income and outgoings, such as mortgage or rent payments, utility bills, and other expenses. Growing your family is a long-term commitment and fertility treatment can be costly, so you need to take everything into account. Creating a budget will help you keep track of where your money is going and see where you can save.
Save where you can
Saving money each month could be crucial to your financial plan. This may mean taking measures like buying in bulk, looking for discounts, or reducing energy consumption to cut costs.
If, or when, you can spare funds, put some of your income directly into a savings account – preferably with a good interest rate to maximise returns! Even if it’s not possible to set aside a portion of your money every month, doing so when you can, could prove beneficial down the line.
