Even if you don\u2019t have direct experience, you probably know someone who does \u2013 a family member, friend or work colleague. We hope people will join in, raise funds and help change perceptions about fertility issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Aim<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This year they have chosen to focus on 5 areas they feel are often overlooked in the media and conversations about infertility:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The myth of the middle-aged would-be-mum: fertility\u00a0issues in your 20s and early 30s<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The truth about fertility treatment: IVF fails 75 per cent of the time; what is it like to face multiple rounds of treatment?<\/li>\n<li>The hidden half: men are just as likely as women to suffer from fertility issues<\/li>\n<li>Facing up to childlessness: coming to terms with childlessness is too often portrayed as a straightforward process when the reality is far from that<\/li>\n<li>Life after successful IVF: the taboo of secondary infertility and can life as the parent of an IVF miracle ever be normal?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Help<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>They are encouraging people to use the social media handles in the lead up to big week:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>#NFAWUK<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>#HiddenFaces<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>#Fertilityin5<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The 2016 National Fertility Awareness Week takes place October 31 \u2013 November 6 2016.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-189\" src=\"https:\/\/pamap.accessfertility.com\/wpcms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/The-3-Cs.jpeg\" alt=\"The 3 C's\" width=\"752\" height=\"278\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Fertility Network is gearing up for its third National Fertility Awareness Week.\u00a0The charity aims to shed light on the unseen, intimate and day-to-day reality of infertility issues.
