Sims IVF and Rotunda IVF are delighted to announce they are expanding their services. We have recently opened a new satellite clinic in Carlow. This will service the population in the midlands and save them multiple trips to Clonskeagh. This clinic will facilitate bloods and scans and we are delighted that we can make the fertility journey a little easier for those based in the midlands. The Carlow clinic is based in the Canta Clinic in Barrow Valley Retail Park. There are other services available onsite in Canta clinic such as Powers Physiotherapy, psychotherapy, physical rehabilitation and a café!
Dr John Kennedy, our Group Medical Director adds “It’s fantastic we get to provide this service for our patients and we are looking forward to our Carlow clinic growing. We listened to our patients who wanted more services in their locality, we chose Carlow based on its accessibility to the east midlands, it is also only a short distance from the M9.”
We also offered those that attended our open day a chance to book in for a free AMH test. We offer these tests free of charge at different times throughout the year. AMH is very often considered to be a ‘fertility test’, when in reality, it is a ‘screening test’. It is a useful indicator of the number of eggs remaining, rather than the quality of those eggs. A woman is born with all the eggs she will ever have. These eggs decline in number with age and so does the AMH level. The level of a woman’s AMH level can be compared with the range expected for her age. We feel it is so important for women to become educated on their fertility in order for them to make informed decisions about their future.
In regards to the service Sims and Rotunda IVF provides, our partnership with Access Fertility is one of the most significant. Fertility Treatment is an expensive process in Ireland as there is no public funding available currently. It can add financial strain and stress to individuals and couples. We feel Access Fertility gives patients that sense of security. In total since we have begun with Access Fertility, we have had a number of patients enrol with the programme with 12 pregnant of them now pregnant!
