Refunds offered to unsuccessful IVF couples

Couples trying for a baby through IVF will be able to get a refund if they fail, under a new scheme.

Would-be parents are being offered a „money-back guarantee“ on treatment at a clinic in Manchester. A similar scheme will be rolled out at a clinic in Brighton later this month.

Patients must be under 37 and using their own eggs to be eligible for the IVF Refund Programme to get 70 per cent of their fees back.

Depending on the plan they pick, refunds could be up £9,000.

Similar deals – known as ’shared risk‘ IVF – are already popular in America, but Manchester Fertility in Cheadle, South Manchester, is the thought to be the first clinic in the UK to launch such a package.
